The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended six individuals suspected of kidnapping a 9-year-old boy named Mustapha Ibrahim and demanding a ransom of N5 million for his release. The abduction took place in Mubi-South Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Abubakar Mohammed, Auwal Usman, Mohammed Abubakar, Umar Mohammed, Abdulhameed Musa, and Muhammad Nasir, are residents of Maiha Road and Kaba Ward in Mubi-South and Mubi North local government areas.

The arrest of these individuals followed a complaint filed by the boy’s father last Thursday, October 19. According to the statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects had entered the victim’s house at around 1800 hours under the pretense of purchasing Zobo juice and subsequently lured the boy outside before abducting him.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, expressed his satisfaction with the successful rescue of the innocent child and the prevention of the criminals from escaping arrest. He has pledged to ensure the diligent prosecution of the suspects.
