The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has underscored the strategic importance of stronger collaboration between Nigeria’s steel and power sectors, describing both industries as critical enablers of industrialisation, economic growth, and national development.
The Minister made this assertion during a courtesy visit to the Corporate Headquarters of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) in Abuja, where he commended the Agency for its unwavering commitment to electrical safety, standards enforcement, and electricity metering certification across the country.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Audu noted that the steel and power sectors have historically shared a close and mutually reinforcing relationship, stressing that neither sector can achieve its full potential without the other.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Engr. Olusegun M. Adesayo, FNSE, described the Minister’s visit as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration and national development.
He noted that the engagement reflects a shared vision to promote industrial growth, infrastructure development, and economic prosperity through strategic partnerships.
