The Labour Party, LP, will issue certificates of return to all candidates who emerged from its nationwide primary elections immediately after ratifying the results at its National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

The party announced this in a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa.

According to LP, the June 11 NEC session, convened under Article 28 of the Labour Party Constitution 2026, will ratify primary election results across the country and approve the submission of the candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in line with the Electoral Act and the party’s constitution.

“After the ratification, the party will present certificates of return to all successful candidates immediately,” the statement said.

The beneficiaries include the presidential candidate, governorship candidates, as well as candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly.

The party said it has notified all statutory NEC members, the successful candidates, party organs, INEC, the media, and the general public of the meeting.

LP described the session as the first NEC meeting following its recent National Convention and the nomination of candidates for the 2027 general election, noting that it is “of strategic importance to the party’s overall preparations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the forthcoming elections.”
