Imisi, the winner of Big Brother Naija season 10, has opened up about personal tragedy weeks before auditioning for the reality show.

During a recent interview, Imisi disclosed that she lost her baby in April, less than a month before she registered for the competition. Describing the period as “overwhelming,” the reality star admitted the grief was a heavy burden to carry into the BBNaija house.

She expressed a preference for not dwelling on the memory, stating simply, “I do not want to talk about it”.

“It was this year in April. It was not even up to a month before I auditioned for Big Brother. The whole thing was so overwhelming for me. I do not want to talk about it,” she said.

Imisi previously revealed that she ended her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Hakeem, barely weeks before her audition.

While she did not specify the reason for their split, she characterised the separation as “hectic” and confessed she entered the house without having fully processed the heartbreak.

Imisi referred to Hakeem as her “safe place,” underscoring the depth of their connection. She further explained that her reliance on him had influenced her public persona, admitting that the image she curated on social media before BBNaija was shaped to align with his preferences.

Born Opeyemi Ayanwale, Imisi emerged victorious from a pool of 29 BBNaija housemates on October 5.

She walked away with the cash prize of N80 million and a brand-new SUV.
