CAF records $9.48m profit for 2023–2024 financial year

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has recorded a net profit of $9.48 million for the 2023–2024 financial year, marking a significant turnaround from previous years of financial deficit. This was announced at the 47th CAF Ordinary General Assembly in Kinshasa on October 6, 2025.

The improvement stems from increased commercial revenue, new sponsorship agreements, and stricter financial management practices.

According to CAF’s financial report, the organisation invested heavily in key areas to strengthen African football, including $81 million in prize money for competitions, $19 million for tournament organisation, and $35 million for football development projects across the continent.

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe expressed optimism about the organisation’s financial outlook, revealing that negotiations for a long-term marketing and television deal worth $1 billion are at an advanced stage.

He noted that CAF’s growing financial stability will help sustain ongoing efforts to develop football infrastructure, support member associations, and enhance the quality of competitions.

The latest figures signal renewed confidence in CAF’s governance and commercial direction, setting a strong foundation for continued growth in African football.
