CAF approves only two Nigerian stadiums for 2025/26 continental competitions

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved only two stadiums in Nigeria to host matches for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja were the only venues to meet CAF’s infrastructure and facility standards.

This decision means all four Nigerian representatives will have to share the approved grounds for their “home” fixtures: Champions League: Remo Stars, Rivers United and Confederation Cup: Kwara United, Abia Warriors

With both tournaments running concurrently, fixture scheduling and pitch management will be critical as the clubs navigate their continental campaigns.
