50 NBA branches now accredited by ICLE to train lawyers

    Published on

Fifty Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) branches have now been accredited by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) to train lawyers—decentralizing learning and expanding access.

This bold initiative, led by NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, and the NBA-ICLE, reflects a strong commitment to inclusivity, affordability, and grassroots empowerment. It addresses a long-standing call for a CPD system that is accessible, equitable, and responsive to the realities of lawyers across Nigeria.

Osigwe stated: “If you are part of any NBA branch, this is the perfect time to take advantage of structured, quality-assured CLE programs right at your doorstep.
“To our colleagues, don’t wait for the next big-city event. Connect with your branch leadership and CLE coordinators to discover upcoming programs.
“To branch leaders, this is your moment to shape the professional development culture in your region. Organize meaningful trainings. Bring seasoned facilitators closer to your members. Make the CLE experience practical, localized, and impactful.
“Other NBA branches are strongly encouraged to seek accreditation with NBA-ICLE to ensure their members also benefit from localized, CPD-compliant training.
“The more branches accredited, the more inclusive, accessible, and empowered our Bar becomes.
“The future of legal excellence lies not just in national programs but in localized, consistent professional learning,” he concluded.
