During his recent state visit to Saint Lucia, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had a brief but memorable encounter with Mr. Bob Chikwem Amadi, a Nigerian medical student currently studying on the island.

The meeting took place when President Tinubu paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia. It was during this visit that Office of the Prime Minister introduced Mr. Amadi to the Nigerian president.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Amadi was working for the catering agency contracted to provide services at the event.

President Tinubu was said to have exchanged pleasantries with the young Nigerian and later posed for a photograph with him and his host, Office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia.

Reflecting on the experience, Mr. Amadi described Saint Lucia as “a very calm place,” noting that “the people seem content, and it’s been a good environment to study.”

He also observed the potential for deeper ties between both nations, saying, “Nigeria and Saint Lucia have a lot in common. There’s a lot of potential for stronger connections.”

President Tinubu’s visit to the Caribbean nation is part of his broader diplomatic mission to strengthen relations between Nigeria and countries in the Caribbean and South America.
