Popular actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is urging Nigerians to speak up despite the world’s loud attempts to keep them quiet.

In a powerful social media post, the movie star addressed the stigma attached to “oversharing,” specifically concerning emotional challenges and mental health.

    “Let them say you’re oversharing!!
Let them think you talk too much!!
    But speak up!!!”

She emphasized the dangers of remaining silent and the possibility that opening up could save a life.

Funke reminded her fans that vulnerability is a strength and that they are not alone. “You are stronger than you think.
You are braver than you feel.
You are loved more than you know.”

She concluded with a call to action, imploring people who are struggling to persevere and speak up. “Speak up, stay alive!! #suicidenottheoption #notosuicide”
