    Stop Benue killings, former presidential candidate urges Tinubu

    Former presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and end the brutal killings in Benue State.

    “No excuses, no finger pointing, just end the killings. The bloodletting has gone on for far too long,” he said.

    The senseless attack that left over 200 people killed happened in Yelwata village, Benue.

    Olawepo-Hashim sympathised with the government and people of the state, entreating the president to wield his power as Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces without political grandstanding.

    He also expressed his condolences to the Plateau State Christian community over the death of the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Fr Polycarp Lubo, noting the late cleric’s “remarkable leadership, dedication to duty and service to the body of Christ.”
