    CAF announces U-20 AFCON locations, dates

    The 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations schedule and locations have been revealed by the Confederation of African Football, or CAF.

    The dates and kickoff timings for the biennial competition’s group stage and knockout matches were also made public by CAF.

    The competition will take place in Egypt from April 27 to May 18, 2025.

    On Sunday, April 27, the hosts will play their first game against Zambia at the Cairo International Stadium.

    On May 1, Nigeria, the seven-time champions, will play Tunisia at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo to start their campaign.

    In the group, Aliyu Zubairu’s team will also face Kenya and Morocco.

    On Friday, May 2, in Suez, Senegal will play the first Group C encounter against the Central African Republic, starting their championship defense.

    The two best third-place teams and the top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals.
