Market demolition, Kano Assembly calls LGA chairman

    Published on

In response to the recent demolitions at the Rano market, which have caused controversy among traders and the general public, the Kano State House of Assembly has called for an explanation from the chairman of the Rano Local Government Area.

During today’s plenary, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Rano, the MP for Rano LGA, made an urgent motion requesting action to help the impacted businesses. He said that hundreds of traders were distressed by the demolitions, which were done without warning and threatened the region’s economic stability.

The motion was adopted by the Assembly, which also insisted that the chairman of the local government come before it to explain the rationale for the demolitions, especially in light of the difficulties the impacted community was facing.

A few of the impacted merchants have urged the state government to step in and offer assistance, calling for an end to additional demolitions.

The Assembly promised to keep an eye on the situation in order to uphold justice and defend the people’s rights.
