In the face of mounting insecurity in Edo State, an Auchi based Lawyer Barrister Noble Okhideme has praised Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki for taking stock of forests in Edo State and taking decisive steps to rid them of Fulani Herdsmen, Bandits, Kidnappers and other Criminal elements who have made the forests their abode and are ambushing unsuspecting Farmers.

Speaking in a telephone interview with this Reporter, Okhideme said, “I’m happy that his Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki has carried out or is carrying out an audit to know the forests in Edo State and the illegal occupiers of those forests. It will go a long way in curbing kidnappings and other Criminal activities”,
North East West and South, Nigerians are being daily harassed by banditry, kidnappings and insurgency. The situation is making nonsense of governments avowal to diversify the economy and give agriculture a pride of place.
Continuing, Okhideme said, “Check out the recent Kidnappings in Iyuku, a neighbouring Village in Etsako West. In Etsako East, it’s the same thing. The story is not different in other parts of the Country. How can you ask people to embrace farming and you are not able to protect them and their crops from the invasion of Fulani Herdsmen. I thank the Governor for policing these ungoverned spaces”.
