Military Dispels Northeastern French Military Base Rumors

    Published on

Online rumors claiming that French soldiers had arrived in Maiduguri to set up a French military post in Northeast Nigeria have been denied by the Defense Headquarters.

The Nigerian military claims that this material is “fake, totally false, and mischievous.”
General Christopher Musa CFR, the Chief of Defense Staff, had previously addressed these accusations in a number of media outlets, refuting the rumors and the news.

These rumors, which are thought to be the product of troublemakers, are advised to be ignored by the general population.
The people was reassured by the military that it would continue to professionally fulfill its constitutional duties and protect the country’s territorial integrity.

General Musa’s recent declaration that no foreign military base will be permitted in Nigeria is consistent with this statement.
