Security Operatives Block Kano Emir’s Palace, Prevent Sanusi II From Attending Royal Event

    Published on

The Kano Emir’s Palace in Kofar Kudu is ringed by heavily armed police officers and State Security Service (SSS) agents, who have restricted access and departure.

Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II’s actions to install his recently appointed Wamban Kano as the District Head of Bichi led to the deployment of security to the palace.

According to information obtained, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is expected to travel to Bichi with Munir Sanusi, the recently appointed Wamban Kano, to his official district posting.

The Bichi Emir’s Palace is under strict protection, according to credible sources, and armed police officers have been stationed there.

While at Bichi two weeks ago, APC National Chairman Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje emphasized that Emir Nasiru Ado Bayero is still the established emir and that the Bichi Emirate Council is still legitimate.

In accordance with the recently established Kano Emirate Council Law, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf declared the five emirs to be illegal and expelled them from their chiefdoms.

But a few days later, save for Bichi, the same government named three second-class emirs, establishing a district head’s jurisdiction.
