The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has clarified that there has been no directive issued for federal workers to change the financial institutions associated with their Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) salary accounts.

In a statement released by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations, the OAGF reassured employees that the IPPIS prioritizes their welfare and will not implement measures that could lead to confusion or undue concern.

This clarification follows worries among employees about potential requirements to change their bank accounts for salary payments, especially as some banks are undergoing system upgrades. The OAGF emphasized that any decision to change salary accounts is a personal choice for each worker, and no general order has been issued by the IPPIS Office.

The OAGF also urged financial institutions to build customer confidence by providing consistent and reliable services to those who have chosen to have their salaries paid through them.

Additionally, the statement highlighted the role of designated agencies in assessing the stability and health of financial institutions, expressing confidence in these agencies’ capabilities to perform their duties effectively.

The OAGF explained, “Any application for a change of salary account is always a personal decision of the worker concerned,” reiterating that there is no need for such a directive.

For employees with legitimate reasons to update their salary accounts on the IPPIS platform, they are advised to follow the official procedures for making such changes.
