Come December this year, the N200, N500 and N1,000 Naira notes currently in circulation will become useless as they would be withdrawn and new ones issued to the public by the federal government

This was disclosed on Wednesday by the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele who announced the redesign of some new naira notes.

Speaking at a press conference at the CBN headquarters Abuja, the governor said the new design and issues will be effective from December 2022.

He advised Nigerians to take old notes to banks for the new notes.

According to Emefiele, the new notes include N200, N500 and N1000
