In an effort to enhance the physical fitness of its personnel, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that it will be conducting its Year 2023 Annual 10 Kilometers Walk/Jog Exercise. The exercise is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 4th November 2023 at 6.00am in Abuja and other NAF Bases across the nation.
The exercise in Abuja will commence from the NAF Base, Asokoro Football Field, and proceed to Defence Headquarters Roundabout. From there, participants will continue along the Keffi Road/Kugo Furniture And Pedestrian Bridge, passing the Army Checkpoint at Kugbo, before returning to the base via the NAF Valley Second Gate.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise, there will be partial restrictions of traffic along the aforementioned routes. Additionally, similar exercises will be conducted in other locations nationwide, covering major routes around NAF Bases and their environs.
The Nigerian Air Force has assured the public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise. Therefore, members of the public, especially motorists and residents around AYA, Asokoro, and communities near NAF Bases across the nation, are advised not to panic but to continue with their normal activities.
The NAF encourages the public to be aware of the exercise and cooperate accordingly. The annual Walk/Jog Exercise serves as a platform for the Nigerian Air Force to promote physical fitness among its personnel, fostering a culture of health and well-being within the organization.
