Nnamdi Kanu’s Family Warns Against Using IPOB’s Name for Political Gains.

    Published on

Nnamdi Kanu’s family has cautioned politicians and groups in Abia State against exploiting the name of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for political purposes. This warning comes in response to allegations that Governor Alex Otti of Abia State sponsored IPOB to create turmoil in the state ahead of the State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision. The Kanu family dismissed these allegations as false and baseless, emphasizing that IPOB should not be dragged into the state’s political issues.

Emma Kanu, the younger brother of the IPOB leader, stated that their primary concern is the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who remains in detention despite court orders for his release. He criticized those trying to link IPOB with Otti, stating that it is a desperate attempt to discredit Otti and that the focus should instead be on addressing the ongoing legal issues surrounding Nnamdi Kanu’s detention.

The Abia State Government called for an immediate investigation into these allegations, as they could potentially lead to disaffection, insecurity, and a breakdown of law and order in the state. The government urged relevant authorities to probe these claims to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
