Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has initiated a comprehensive review of policies implemented by his predecessor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai. Through his verified Facebook page, Governor Sani announced a reduction in tuition fees for state-owned tertiary institutions, addressing concerns raised by the public.

“In response to the widespread concern regarding the current tuition fees charged by tertiary institutions in Kaduna State and their impact on student enrollment and retention, I have approved a downward adjustment of the school fees for these institutions as follows,” Uba stated.

The following institutions will be affected by the fee reduction:

    • KADUNA STATE UNIVERSITY
    • Current Fee: N150,000
    • Reduction: 30%
    • New Fee: N105,000

Governor Sani emphasized that this downward revision of the existing fee structure aligns with the administration’s commitment to alleviating the impact of the rising cost of living, particularly in light of the recent removal of petroleum subsidies in Nigeria.

“The well-being of our citizens remains our highest priority. Our government will persist in taking all necessary measures to ensure access to free and high-quality education for every child in Kaduna State, from primary to secondary school levels. We will also expand opportunities for higher education, improve teachers’ welfare and teaching standards, enhance school infrastructure, nurture ICT proficiency among students from foundational levels, and intensify investments in Technical and Vocational Education,” the governor concluded.
