    Anambra community Elects New Officers

    A community in Anambra state, the Amawbia Town Union (ATU), Abuja Branch has elected new officers to pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years.

    The keenly contested election which took place on Sunday during the union’s monthly General meeting saw the emergence of Mr Ikechukwu Udeozor as President while Sir Donatus Anumba was returned as Vice Vice President.

    Also elected were, Mr Anayo Ekeh (Secretary); Mr Joseph Maduka (Assistant Secretary); Mr Ifeanyi Okeke (Financial Secretary); Mr Arinze Okafor (Assistant Financial Secretary) and Dr Tony Nworah (Treasurer).

    Other elected officers include, Sir Tony Obiechina (Publicity Secretary); Mr Ekene Nwokoye (Provost); Mr Okechukwu Obi (Social/Welfare Secretary); and  Mr Mgbechi Osakw (Auditor).

    In his acceptance speech, the President,  Mr Udeozor on behalf of the new Executives thanked the members who in their collective wisdom deemed it fit to elect the new Officers.

    “Consequently, you  have empowered us to continue in the footsteps of our past leaders, whose sacrifices and commitment, kept our Union worthy. I pledge on our behalf, to work hard, ensure success in all matters of the union’s interest, and at all times”, he added.
