    50 LESS PRIVILEGED STUDENTS GETS CDF SCHOLARSHIP AWARD IN KADUNA

    A civil society Organization, Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF), has given scholarship award to over 50 less privileged students willing to further their studies to higher institutions.

    The NGO has also given cash award of N10, 000 each, to 22 other underprivileged students to register for 2023 JAMB, the program Coordinator, Mr. Davide Tuk, revealed in an interview.

    Founder of the Foundation, Captain Caleb Danladi said the cash awards was also given to 22 students from various communities in Jaba LGA, on weekend, to register themselves for this year’s JAMB.

    He said the beneficiaries, comprising of 11 male and 11 female students were drawn from communities in “Samban Gida, Daddu, Kwoi, Ungwan Zuma, Samban Daji in Jaba LGA, and other communities in Jamaa LGA” of Southern part of Kaduna state.

    According to the organiser, a minimum of 5 credits pass, Orphans and less privileged children, were used as criteria for the selection of the successful candidates for cash award to students for JAMB registration.

    Captain Danladi, told newsmen in an interview that the foundation spent about N586,000 for 48 students’ JAMB registration in 2022.

    The foundation said that students who passed the JAMB with required scores, and were given admission are assisted with finances for the registration in their various school of choice till graduation.

    “We register the students for JAMB, after the JAMB, those who pass and get admission into their school of choice, there’ll be follow up by given financial assistance for their registration in the schools.

    “Some of the school they got admission into are Federal Polytechnics Nasarawa, College of Education Akwanga, Kaura Namoda Polytechnic, Kaduna state University (KASU), among others. Some have graduated”, they said.

    CDF however noted with dismay, the large number of less privileged students with good WAEC results, striving to further their studies in vain, He appealed to international donor, agencies, spirited individuals and organizations to join him to assist the poor to get western education for peaceful society and development.

    The aims and objectives of CDF is to give hope to the hopeless through the provision of life support materials, provide scholarship to vibrant youths who are less privilege, reach out to widows and orphans; provide succour to victims of disaster, among others, Danladi said.
    A lot of them wanted to go to school but lacks the financiers to make it.

    Two of beneficiaries, Gloria Ernest and Bitrus Sebastian, who spoke in an interview thanked CDF for providing them platform and opportunity to further their education, and pleaded with other wealthy Nigerians to emulate Danladi in sponsoring less privileged students in the country to acquired higher education.
