2027 Race: PDP Aspirant Oguntoyinbo Courts Oyo Councillors, Says He’ll Consolidate Makinde’s Reforms

    Published on

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has appealed to councillors across the state to back his bid to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde in 2027.

Speaking at a meeting with councillors from all 33 LGAs at Iseyin City Hall, Oguntoyinbo said his ambition is rooted in a desire to protect and expand Makinde’s reform-driven governance model. He described councillors as the closest link to the grassroots and essential stakeholders in shaping the state’s future.

“I am here because you are the real leaders at the community level,” he said. “Governor Makinde has done exceptionally well, and Oyo cannot afford to hand its progress to the wrong hands.”

Leader of the House in Egbeda LGA, Olasunkanmi Olusola, commended Oguntoyinbo for being the first aspirant to publicly recognise councillors as strategic political actors.
