The spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, says former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, does not have the political muscle to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 — at least not alone.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele argued that only a coalition involving three yet-to-be-identified political figures could pose a serious threat to Tinubu’s re-election ambitions.
“Peter Obi alone cannot stop Tinubu. He cannot become president on his own, and the current opposition coalition lacks the strategic power players needed to topple Tinubu’s second-term bid,” Ayodele said.
He acknowledged that President Tinubu has so far outperformed former President Muhammadu Buhari and has the capacity to do more if re-elected. However, he warned that the involvement of three key individuals could significantly weaken Tinubu’s chances.
“Tinubu has worked harder than Buhari. He will perform even better if Nigerians give him a second chance. But if these three individuals join forces, his victory could be in jeopardy,” the cleric stated.
Ayodele also cautioned Tinubu about possible betrayals from northern allies and urged him to make careful appointments to avoid political sabotage.
“If Tinubu doesn’t put the right people in the right places, especially in the North, betrayal could derail his campaign,” he warned.
He concluded with a cryptic message: “Three unnamed actions must be taken, and three people must be watched closely. The 2027 election will be different.”
