2027: Ibru rallies Ughelli North APC behind Tinubu, Oborevwori

Business mogul and respected political figure, Olorogun Oscar Ibru, convened a high-powered unity meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area over the weekend, aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. The meeting, held at Oharisi Model Primary School in Ughelli, brought together APC stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, youth leaders, and party loyalists in a renewed show of commitment to party cohesion and electoral victory.

Olorogun Ibru, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the need for unity and strategic mobilization to secure a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. He described both leaders as “reform-driven patriots” whose policies are laying the groundwork for sustainable development in Nigeria and Delta State. Ibru said, “This is not the time for division. It is time to come together, set aside differences, and support those who have shown genuine commitment to progress. President Tinubu has made tough but necessary decisions to reposition the economy, and Governor Oborevwori has been exemplary in infrastructural development and youth empowerment.17 We are out here today to celebrate a man who is doing what I would have done 18 years ago when I ran for the governorship of the state. The Governor has been wonderful. I call him Sheriff with confidence, he is a man of peace and positive action. The Governor is someone who has gone through all stages of political development. He is a gentleman and honourable in his conduct. He has a listening ear. I dislike when people say the Governor defected, he knows what he is doing and what is best for you, for me, and for Deltans. I pray that we all cooperate with him by working for his re-election and that of the President come 2027. Actions speak louder than words, and from what he has done so far, it’s clear that the Governor came prepared for the business of governance.”

Ibru charged party faithful in Ughelli North to intensify grassroots engagement, support ongoing government initiatives, and uphold discipline within party ranks to ensure sweeping victories in 2027. In his welcome remarks, Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, said the party was united in the area.

“We are consolidating the unity of our party and we are determined to deliver 85 percent of Ughelli North votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our dear Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,” he stated.

Several party leaders who spoke at the meeting, including Olorogun Morrison Olori, Olorogun Terry Noah, Prof. Sam Iboje, Vera Ugbobor, Felix Olokpa, and the President-General of the Ughelli Descendants Union, Olorogun Samuel Akpimegi, commended Ibru for his bridge-building efforts, which they said would reinvigorate the APC’s structure in the local government. They thanked the people for their support for the party, adding that the unity they were championing was aimed at producing the desired results for Mr. President, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The event marked a significant step towards consolidating party unity and sharpening campaign readiness, as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of 2027.
