2025 UTME: JAMB announces new date for mop-up exam

    Published on

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled Saturday, 28th June 2025, for the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) across 183 centres nationwide.

JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the rescheduled exam will accommodate 96,838 candidates — including 5,096 spillover cases and others who failed biometric verification.

He added that absentee candidates from both the main and re-sit exams would be given another opportunity under this mop-up, which is strictly for the 2025 cycle.

A total of 113 CBT centres have been delisted or suspended for technical deficiencies and involvement in malpractice.

JAMB also praised security agencies for their role in uncovering exam fraud rings, including impersonators and fraudulent tutorial centres. Arrests have been made, and prosecution is ongoing.

Dr. Benjamin warned that institutions will be notified of any undergraduate students found guilty of impersonation, as they have violated their matriculation oath and may face expulsion and prosecution.

Candidates scheduled for the mop-up are advised to print their examination slips from Monday, 23rd June and arrive at centres by 7am for the 8am session.
