‎The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recorded the highest percentage rate of qualification from the group stage of any confederatio at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup being co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, to advance to the Round of 32.

‎A record nine out of the ten participating African countries successfully progressed to the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving CAF a 90 per cent record qualification.

‎The nine CAF representatives that advanced to the knockout stage are: Morocco, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, Algeria, and DR Congo. Tunisia was the only African team eliminated in the group stage.

‎CONMEBOL recorded 83.33 per cent, UEFA recorded 81.25 per cent, CONCACAF recorded 50 recorded, AFC recorded 22.22 per cent, and OFC recorded 0 per cent.

‎The historic campaign saw Algeria become the final African nation to secure their progression, following a thrilling 3-3 draw against Austria earlier on Sunday.

‎The hard-fought point was enough to see the Desert Warriors sneak through to the last-32 as one of the tournament’s best third-placed teams. Algeria wrapped up the group phase with four points from their three matches, finishing third in Group J, behind Argentina and Austria.

‎The lone casualty from CAF, Tunisia, bowed out of the competition, after a disappointing campaign left them at the bottom of Group F, with zero points.

    ‎The 72 group-stage games ran from June 11 to June 27.
