The Women Organized for Mentorship and Advocacy Network (WOMAN) has been honoured with an Award of Excellence in recognition of its outstanding contributions as one of the Non-Governmental Organizations of the Year.

The award was presented today by Mr. Blessing Matthew, the Executive Director of Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA), in acknowledgment of WOMAN’s sustained impact in women empowerment, mentorship, advocacy, and community development.

The Executive Director of WOMAN, Lady Eunice Nnachi, was the recipient of the award. Speaking during the presentation, Lady Nnachi expressed deep appreciation to the organizers, particularly Mr. Blessing Matthew, for recognizing the organization’s work.

“I am sincerely grateful to Mr. Blessing Matthew and the Bayelsa Media Network Awards for this honour. This recognition strengthens our resolve to continue advocating for women, mentoring young girls, and building inclusive communities,” she said.

Under Lady Eunice Nnachi’s leadership, WOMAN has implemented impactful programs focused on leadership development, education, economic empowerment, and rights advocacy for women and girls. These initiatives have positioned the organization as a credible and influential voice within the non-profit and development space.

Special appreciation was extended to Mr. Blessing Matthew and the BMNA team for promoting excellence and accountability through their awards platform, which celebrates organizations and individuals making meaningful contributions to society.

The Award of Excellence further reinforces WOMAN’s standing as a leading civil society organization and highlights the critical role of women-led initiatives in driving sustainable social change
