Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has said his team is focused and determined to win their second group game against Sudan on Tuesday at the ongoing 2024 CHAN tournament.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Chelle described the fixture as a must-win to revive Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying from the group stage.

“I just want to win the game – that’s my project. To stay ambitious, we have to win this game against Sudan,” he said.

“We have a lot of pressure, and it’s normal because we are a great country. We need to be better before the last game. If we win, it will bring positive energy to the team, and then we’ll see what’s next.”

Super Eagles B captain Nduka Junior also maintained that the team would remain hungry and approach each game with focus.

“The last game we lost was just a setback, not a disaster. We’re working on every mistake we’ve made in the past to make sure we get things right in our subsequent games,” he said.

Nigeria lost their opening group game 1–0 against Senegal on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. To stand any chance of progressing, they must beat Sudan when both teams meet at the Amaan Stadium on August 12, 2025, in Zanzibar City, Tanzania.
