Nigeria’s National League side, Wikki Tourists, have declared six players Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL), and formally notified the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the development.
The Bauchi-based club announced that the affected players failed to report for training sessions and other official club activities without obtaining prior authorisation from management.
According to the club, the players’ prolonged absence constitutes a serious violation of professional standards and contractual obligations.
The players named by Wikki Tourists are: Abdullahi Pepe, Chizoba Okoh, Sani Ibrahim, Abubakar Ibrahim Aliyu, Ibrahim Shuaibu, and Barhama Mansur.
In a statement released by the club, officials said repeated attempts to contact the players and secure their return to camp had been unsuccessful.
The club further noted that none of the players had resumed duty or provided satisfactory explanations for their absence.
“The players have failed to report for training and other official engagements without authorisation, despite several efforts by the club to reach them,” the statement read.
