The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has deported 400 Nigerians, consisting of 90 women and 310 men, according to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The deportees arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Friday at 7:00 pm, using the airport’s pilgrims wing. They were received by a team of Federal Government officials, including representatives from the Office of the National Security Adviser, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other relevant bodies.
Following the deportation, the Federal Government of Nigeria has called for calm.
