Trump explains why he pardoned Capitol riot offenders

    Published on

President Donald Trump of the United States has provided an explanation for his decision to pardon those responsible for the attack on the Capitol building in Washington on January 6, 2021.

Only a few hours after being sworn in on Monday, Trump signed the related order in the White House in Washington.

Remember how Trump supporters forcefully overran the U.S. congressional seat in Washington on January 6, 2021, where the Republican’s election loss to Joe Biden was supposed to be officially certified?

Five people were killed when a throng, incited by Trump, who staged a protest to support allegations of election fraud, broke into the building.

However, reporters questioned Trump about his broad pardons for the approximately 1,500 individuals charged in connection with the January 2021 riot in the U.S. Capitol during a news conference on Tuesday to announce the AI investment.

According to the U.S. leader, those criminals have been imprisoned for years, and their lives have been destroyed.

“Just because they have been incarcerated for years,” Trump stated. “In this country, murderers are not even imprisoned.”

He went on to say, “Their lives have been ruined.”
