Tinubu has my unflinching loyalty, says Gov Eno

    Published on

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has expressed a deep emotional connection to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the president’s leadership style and track record as sources of admiration.

Governor Eno made the remark during the quarterly meeting of the Victory High School (VHS) Old Students’ Association, 1981 Set, held in Lagos over the weekend.

Speaking to his former classmates, Eno noted that his political roots are firmly planted in the All Progressives Congress (APC), making it difficult for him to distance himself from Tinubu, whom he described as a “rare leader.”

The governor defended the current administration, saying critics of President Tinubu were largely individuals who had squandered opportunities when they held power. He added that Tinubu’s vision and decisiveness have continued to stand out, particularly in challenging times.

In a show of generosity and commitment to the alumni community, Governor Eno announced a donation of N10 million as seed funding for a Welfare Intervention Scheme proposed by the VHS 1981 Set leadership. He said the group’s unwavering support during his difficult moments in public service continues to inspire him.

The association used the event to honor Eno with the title of Grand Patron and presented him with an Award of Excellent Service, recognizing his contributions to alumni development and broader human capital growth.
