The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate for Lau Local Government Area, Hon. Peter Julius, has pledged to prioritize youth empowerment and agricultural development if elected in the November 8 Taraba State local government elections.
Speaking during the grand finale of his campaign in Lau town on Friday, Julius said his administration would focus on skills acquisition, sports promotion, and talent development to complement Governor Agbu Kefas’ youth-focused initiatives. He noted that empowering young people would help reduce crime and foster sustainable growth that could position Lau on the global map.
“My goal is to enhance youth development through training and sports talent promotion, in line with Governor Kefas’ vision. This, I believe, will create a peaceful and progressive society,” he said. “I also intend to revitalize agriculture by partnering with relevant agencies and NGOs to provide modern tools and agrochemicals, making Lau the economic hub of Taraba State.”
The Lau PDP Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Ezekiel, and Director-General of the Peter Julius Campaign Council, Mr. Absolom Simon Sayonti, both urged residents to vote massively for Julius to sustain the development agenda of Governor Kefas.
Elder statesman Philip Kondila and former Commissioner for Works, Hon. Ibrahim Haman Jude, also expressed confidence that Julius would deliver unprecedented progress in Lau LGA if elected.
Meanwhile, the PDP candidate donated a complete set of football jerseys and two FIFA-standard balls to Win-Lau FC as part of his youth engagement drive.
