The Iron Cutter’s Club, Takum, has commended the Executive Chairman of Takum Local Government Council, Hon. Bako Benjamin, for what it described as “transformational governance” during his first 10 months in office.
In an appreciation letter signed by Don Kasari Ika on behalf of the group, the club said Benjamin’s administration had delivered impactful initiatives and made significant contributions to the development and wellbeing of residents across the local government.
The group highlighted developments in infrastructure, including people-oriented projects, road projects awarded under the watch of elder statesman, Lt. General T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd.), the reconstruction and remodeling of public schools, improvements in healthcare facilities, and the remodeling of the township main market.
“These achievements stand as enduring testimonies to your ability to transform notable aspirations into tangible realities that continue to improve the quality of life of the citizenry,” the letter stated.
The club also commended Benjamin for his leadership during periods of uncertainty and emergencies, saying he had demonstrated courage, wisdom, compassion and decisiveness in responding to the needs of the people.
“We remain deeply appreciative of your mentorship, accessibility and unwavering dedication to the service of humanity. Thank you for your sacrifices,” the group added.
The club recalled that shortly after assuming office, Benjamin embarked on several people-oriented infrastructural projects, including the construction of a modern market and abattoir aimed at boosting economic activities in Takum.
It noted that the significance of the market project attracted the intervention of Lt. Gen. T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd.), who was present to supervise the project and facilitated the award of access roads leading to the market.
The group further described Benjamin as a visionary and accessible leader whose commitment to the development of Takum remains unwavering.
The commendation comes as the Chairman marks 10 months in office, with the Iron Cutter’s Club describing his administration’s record as worthy of recognition and emulation.
