Taraba APC chieftain Bakari resigns over lack of inclusivity

    Published on

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bashir Bakari, has announced his resignation from the party, citing a persistent lack of recognition and inclusivity.

Bakari, who hails from Majidadi Ward in Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State, made his decision known in a letter addressed to the APC Ward Chairman over the weekend. He stated that the resignation takes immediate effect.

In the letter, Bakari explained that his decision followed years of loyalty and contributions that were not adequately acknowledged. He recalled contesting as an aspirant for the Jalingo II Constituency in the 2023 elections and serving as a member of the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council (TPCC).

Despite these roles, Bakari cited unfair treatment and a lack of internal democracy as reasons for his departure. He noted that the move was taken after consultation with supporters and that he intends to explore other platforms where his capacity can be better utilized.
