Suspected Fulani herdsmen reportedly kill three

    Published on

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed three natives at Kpakpam in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was learnt the incident occurred at about 7pm when the suspects stormed the settlement and started shooting sporadically which resulted in the death of three persons.

An eyewitness, who spoke to New National Star on Tuesday on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the herders have been terrorising the community in recent times.

Our source hinted that similar attacks were reported three weeks ago, causing the inhabitants to desert the affected communities unhurt.

It was gathered that scores of violence are allegedly going on in the hinterland as suspected herders continue to wreak havoc on innocent souls.

An informant recounted there are hundreds of people who have deserted their ancestral homes a fortnight ago and have become refugees with their relatives elsewhere.

Attempts to obtain the clarification from the Benue Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, were not successful.
