    Supreme orders circulation of old 200,500,1000 naira till December 31,2023

    The Supreme Court, the highest judiciary body in the land has ruled that the old Naira notes of 200,500 and 1000 denomination should remain as legal tender and in circulation till December 31,2023.

    In its ruling on Friday, the court said the currency redesign policy of the Federal Government was an affront on the 1999 Constitution.
    The apex court has therefore ordered that the 200 500,1000 old note remains in circulation till December 31,2023.
