The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the future of Super Eagles coach, Peseiro, will be determined by fans. NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, revealed this during an interview on the Gbamm! LovingFootball Show, in response to the criticism surrounding the Portuguese coach’s performance.

Following an analysis by The ICIR, which indicated below-par results during Peseiro’s one-year tenure as coach, Gusau acknowledged the public’s concerns and stated that the NFF would seek public opinions to decide Peseiro’s fate. The decision-making process will involve social media and SMS polls.

“We have a plan to engage Nigerians and hear their views on the matter,” said Gusau. “We have tried foreign and local coaches, but it seems there have been challenges with both. Perhaps, we didn’t get the right person for the job. However, we will present the options to the public and let them decide whether to continue with Peseiro or seek a replacement.”

Gusau emphasized that the NFF will also seek public sentiment regarding the appointment of a Nigerian coach. “We will ask Nigerians, via phone polls, if they believe choosing a Nigerian coach would be the best decision for Nigeria. Based on their feedback, the board will deliberate and reach a conclusion,” he added.
