Southampton, vying for promotion to the Championship, has reportedly disclosed their valuation for Nigeria international Paul Onuachu.

The towering striker, fresh from representing the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is anticipated to return to Trabzon on Friday.

As per Turkish outlet Karadeniz Gazetesi, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan enquired about the permanent acquisition of Onuachu from Southampton. He was quoted a sum of 12 million euros (approximately N19.5 billion) inclusive of bonuses.

Onuachu, initially signed from Racing Genk by Southampton in January 2023 for 18 million euros, encountered challenges adapting to the Premier League in the latter part of the previous season.

Seeking more playing time in a top-flight league, Onuachu embarked on a loan stint with Trabzonspor during the summer transfer window. He has since regained his form, contributing to twelve goals (9 goals, 3 assists) in fifteen Super Lig appearances.

Considering a potential Premier League promotion, Southampton might explore the striker market, casting doubts on Onuachu’s future at St Mary’s Stadium.

Meanwhile, Trabzonspor aims to negotiate Onuachu’s asking price down from 12 million euros to 10 million euros.
