‎Six persons have lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in a road accident on the Kabba-Odo-Ape road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

    ‎

‎The Kogi Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lawal Fagge, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview on Sunday.

    ‎

‎Fagge said the crash, which involved a truck and a commercial vehicle, occurred on Saturday afternoon.

    ‎

‎He attributed the accident to speeding, saying residents of Odo-Ape helped rescue the survivors.

    ‎

‎“It is unfortunate that six persons lost their lives, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries as a result of the tragic incident involving a truck and another vehicle along the Kabba-Odo-Ape Road.

    ‎

‎“We will continue to advise motorists to avoid speeding, unnecessary overtaking and desist from driving while fatigued. This is very important in preventing road crashes,” he said.

    ‎

‎The sector commander said the bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Kabba.
