    Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF)

    Dr Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, PhD, FCA, FCTI, FCS, CFE (USA), MCSI(UK), was appointed
    Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) by His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,
    President and Commander -in – Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria on the
    7th March, 2025 after a rigorous selection process.
    He started his working career as an Accountant with Humana Diagnostic & Heart Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos in
    1991 before moving on to the Lagos State Public Works Corporation in 1992. From 1993 to 1998, he
    worked as a banking Officer at ICON Stockbrokers Ltd and between April, 1998  to August, 2000, Dr.
    Ogunjimi was the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at Trust Yields Securities Ltd, Ikoyi, Lagos
    (Investment Bankers).
    He began his career in the Federal Civil Service in the year 2000 when he was appointed to the Service
    under the pool of OFFICE OF THE ACCOUNTANT- GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION and worked as Principal
    Internal Auditor and Head of Internal Audit Unit  in the Ministry of Defence, Nigerian Armed Forces
    Resettlement Center and Nigerian Navy Headquarters respectively, between year 2000 and 2007.
    Between 2007 and 2010 Dr Ogunjimi worked as Head of Accounts at the Nigerian Copyright Commission
    and in the year 2010 to 2017 , he worked as Assistant Director in both the Ministry of Police Affairs and
    the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and as Deputy Director Accounts in the Federal
    Ministry of Environment.
    As a brilliant Accountant with a high level of professionalism and having an excellent and successful
    career in the Civil Service, between the year 2017 to 2020, Dr. Ogunjimi worked as Deputy Director,
    Internal Audit and later Director Internal Audit in the Nigeria Immigration Service. He was later
    redeployed to National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and the Nigeria Immigration Service as Director of
    Finance and Accounts, as well as the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) as Director
    of Finance and Accounts, where he brought his wealth of experience to bear in repositioning the
    Finance and Accounts departments of the three Agencies.
    In continuity of his professionalism and the reforms carried out  in various agencies where he worked,
    other Chief Executives sought for his advice and between March, 2021 and February 2023, he was
    deployed as Director of Finance and Accounts to the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in
    Nigeria (CRFFN), Code of Conduct Bureau and later as Treasury Director of Revenue at the Nigerian Ports
    Authority.
    Arising from his desire to reposition the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, between
    February, 2023 and November, 2024 Dr. Ogunjimi was posted as Director, Financial Reforms, Finance
    and Accounts Department, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and later Ministry of
    Foreign Affairs as Director of Finance and Accounts after which he was redeployed back as Director of
    Funds in the OAGF
    Dr. Ogunjimi was elected earlier as the deputy chairperson of the African Association of Accountants-
    General (AAAG) from June 2025 till November 2025 and later elected as the Chairperson of the
    Association upon the completion of the tenure of the inaugural Chairperson. This role further showcases
    his commitment and dedication towards the development of Public Financial Management within the
    continent of Africa.
    Dr. Ogunjimi Shamseldeen has also acted as a member of many Ad-hoc Committees which include:

    Member of the Technical Working Group (TWG) to develop the Public Sector Governance Code for the
    Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
    Advisor on Operational Finance & Accounts Matters 2022 Hajj Operations National Hajj Commission of
    Nigeria (NAHCON),
    Project Accountant – ECONOMIC REFORMS AND GOVERNANCE PROJECT (WORLD BANK-assisted
    programme) June, 2007 to 2010.
    Dr. Ogunjimi is a member of several professional bodies, which include the following:

    He has several honours and awards, which include:
