Senators have expressed their readiness to consider and screen list of ministerial nominees once it is sent to them by President Bola Tinubu

In this regard they said they are equally prepared to hold daily sittings to ensure timely clearance of the nominees, despite the scheduled annual recess starting on July 27.

Yemi Adaramodu, the chairman of the Senate committee on media and publicity, said that the Chamber has more time to consider the request of the President before going on the break.

He said: “There is still ample time to present and screen ministerial nominees,” The Nation reported him as saying.

Adaramodu maintained that the right thing would be done by the National Assembly and that Nigerians would not be disappointed.President Tinubu has earlier been reported to have forwarded the names of the ministerial nominees to the national assembly. The president was also reported to have sent the list to the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for screening.

However, the Nigerian senate was said to not be in possession of the much talked about ministerial list of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ahead of the July 28 deadline for the list to surface as the red chamber, the senator representing Anambra Central, Victor Umeh, however said the list had not gotten to the Senate.

Umeh added that contrary to the expectations of Nigerians, the senate did not discuss the Ministerial list of Tinubu, the Senate, during its executive session held on Thursday, July 20.

The Senate is expected to reconvene on July 25 and possibly consider the ministerial list.
