Rivers APC, led by Okocha, to Fubara: Resign or face impeachment

    Published on

The State House of Assembly has threatened to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara unless he resigns, according to the Rivers State All Progressives Congress, or APC, led by Tony Okocha.

At a news conference in Port Harcourt on Monday, Okocha gave the order and charged the governor with mishandling the state.

Okocha asserts that Fubara’s only choices are to resign or be impeached.

He claimed that the state is in trouble as a result of Fubara’s administration.

Furthermore, he asserted that the Supreme Court’s ruling, which cited several violations by the governor that he characterized as impeachable charges, proved that Rivers State does not have a functioning government.

Additionally, Okocha said that Fubara no longer had the power to call Assembly members to a meeting.
