‎Nigeria’s representatives in the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League, Edo Queens, defeated Ghanaian side, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, to clinch the trophy.

‎The resilient Queens twice came back from behind, as both teams battled to a pulsating 2-2 draw in regulation time, before the Nigerian ladies held their nerve in the shootout to triumph 4-1 on penalties in the thrilling final.

‎Ampem Darkoa made a dream start to the contest when Beline Nyarko fired them ahead in the second minute.

‎But the lead lasted just two minutes, as Doosuur Anastasia Atume struck in the fourth minute to restore parity for Edo Queens.

‎Both sides continued to battle for control of the contest, but it was Nyarko who struck again 16 minutes from time to put the Ghanaian champions back in front.

‎With defeat looming, Edo Queens launched a desperate late push for an equaliser.

‎Their persistence eventually paid off deep into stoppage time when Oluebube Umejiaku found the back of the net to make it 2-2, and send the final into a penalty shootout.

‎Kennedy Boboye’s side were flawless from the spot, converting all four of their penalties.

‎Ampem Darkoa, meanwhile, converted just one of their three attempts, missing twice as Edo Queens sealed an emphatic 4-1 shootout victory.

‎The triumph secured Edo Queens a place in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.

‎Following their impressive campaign, the Nigerian champions also picked up individual honours, with winger, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, named the WAFU B Player of the Tournament.

‎Atume, who scored the first equaliser in the final, finished the competition as the top scorer to claim the Golden Boot award.
