    Published on

Grants of ₦50,000 have been given to 500 women in Niger State, with the beneficiaries expressing gratitude to the first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for the grant to boost their businesses.

The beneficiaries also expressed optimism that the money will assist in boosting their existing petty businesses and help them take care of their families, especially due to the current economic hardship.

The program commenced last week at the Government House, Minna, with the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, flagging off the initiative and presenting grants to the first batch of 50 beneficiaries from Niger State.

The final phase saw the disbursement to the remaining 450 beneficiaries, ensuring that all 500 selected women from the state received the support to grow their businesses, support their families, and strengthen their communities.

Two among the beneficiaries, Aisha Yawa, a 55-year-old mother of three, and Alheri Yafi Mugunta, a 50-year-old, spoke to our reporter on how they were selected and how the grant will assist in boosting their petty trades.

Niger State coordinator of the program, Fatima Bago, expressed gratitude that the RHI continues to implement impactful projects nationwide, with this economic empowerment scheme providing vital financial support to women entrepreneurs across all states of the federation. According to her, the initiative is a powerful demonstration of trust in the capabilities of Nigerian women.
