    Police Foil Kidnap Attempt and Rescue Five Victims in Katsina

    In a commendable display of bravery and swift action, the police in Katsina State foiled a kidnapping attempt and successfully rescued five victims from the clutches of suspected terrorists. The victims, consisting of three married women, a child, and a man, were abducted by the terrorists in Sabon Gida village, Malumfashi Local Government Area of the State.

    According to the statement issued by ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the Police Spokesman, the incident occurred at approximately 0500 hrs. The terrorists, armed with dangerous weapons, including AK-47 rifles, unleashed terror on the village, firing indiscriminately as they abducted the five individuals and began moving towards Kankara LGA.

    Upon receiving the distress call, the DPO Kankara acted swiftly, mobilizing his team to the scene. They confronted the suspected terrorists in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the successful rescue of all the kidnapped victims, who were fortunately unharmed.

    The police are now actively pursuing the fleeing suspects, and investigations are ongoing to ensure that those responsible for the attempted kidnapping face justice. The police’s prompt response and commitment to protecting the lives and safety of the public have been instrumental in thwarting this criminal act.
