The Nigeria Democratic Congress(NDC ) flagbearer for gubernatorial seat of Plateau State Hon Jonathan Sunday Akuns has intensified its preparations for the 2027 general elections with major political moves at the local governments and state levels, unveiling its governance blueprint promised reposition Plateau State ,if elected.
At the interactive event held with former Alliance for Democracy, AD stakeholders the party’s guber candidate,Da Jonathan Sunday Akuns, JP, Galadima Daffo , presented the NDC manifesto, titled: “Farewell to poverty and insecurity: Governance and accelerated development blueprint of a new Plateau (2027–2031),” at the Garden Centre in Abuja.
Akuns promised to repositioned the State if given the opportunity to serve the good people of Plateau State also declaring that with 3 billions he can create 23 billions .
According to him, with little intervention it will resolve Plateau ’s socio-economic challenges, urging citizens to demand direct accountability and embrace home-grown solutions.
Critiquing systemic corruption and leadership failures, Jonathan Sunday pledged that an NDC administration would eliminate internal divisions and restore state functionality within four years.
He outlined key targets, stressing that politics should be service to humanity not destroying families structure and develop for the wellbeing of their people.
NDC candidate Chief Jonathan Sunday Akuns , reiterated that the primary purpose of government is security, citizen welfare, and economic productivity.
He emphasised that public office must not be treated as private property, outlining a three-pillar framework based on security, productivity, and prosperity.
He is , calling it an essential roadmap to rescue the State and announcing immediate grassroots mobilisation across Senatorial districts .
He stated that the party is competing to win control of the state, pledging to replace “pedestrian thinking” with system-based governance to turn Plateau State’s human and material resources into sustainable economic opportunities.
Akuns also expressed readiness to debate rival candidates on policy and urged aggrieved members to rejoin the party under an open-door policy.
He urged the standard-bearer promises to focus on grassroots mobilisation across all 17 local government areas.
Akuns further emphasised his loyalty, that initiative is sustainable framework for managing the rural economy by providing financial independence through livestock care in Plateau State.
He disclosed that he would work with the critical stakeholders towards rebuilding the State and promoting peaceful coexistence amongst the diverse ethnic groups residents in Plateau State
While addressing ,Plateau crises Akuns harped on the competition over land utilization and the site of government will not control asset but to expand assets for community engagement .
He stated that the role of government is protection of lives and properties of its citizens especially where your living in the society the citizenship identity should be carefully evaluated by the laws not Rainbow approached.
Akuns noted that Nigeria lack governing laws and purposeful driving but if agreeing to come together our society will be better because our society is under Monarchical system.
He emphasized on bringing governance closer to the people also transforming Plateau State like Switzerland to raise productivity across all sectors of the State.
