A chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has condoled with his former running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, over the death of his brother.

Obi expressed his condolences in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Friday.

He said, “I deeply mourn with my dear younger brother Datti Baba-Ahmed over the passing of his beloved younger brother.

“My thoughts and earnest prayers are with him and the entire Baba-Ahmed family in this moment of grief.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength and patience to bear this painful loss—inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

“May Allah comfort all who mourn and reward patience with peace. Indeed, Allah is the Best of planners,” he wrote.
