On July 23, 2024, Mr. Abel Enitan, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, encouraged ministry staff to infuse their work with new ideas and innovation. This call was made during the inauguration of a 15-member Reform and Innovation Committee in Abuja.

The newly established committee will oversee and coordinate reforms and innovations within the ministry. Enitan emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Federal Civil Service Reform Strategy and Implementation Plan for 2021-2025. He expressed confidence that the committee would create a favorable environment for creativity and improve the ministry’s operations.

Enitan also honored several staff members for their exceptional performance and stressed the importance of punctuality and professionalism in enhancing the ministry’s reputation and efficiency.

Mr. Barry Odii, Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, highlighted that the committee’s mission is to boost service delivery and foster innovation. Members of the committee, selected from Grade Levels 13 to 15, were chosen for their public service expertise.

Mrs. Gloria Azoro, Deputy Director of the Transformation Department in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, commended the ministry for appointing capable individuals to lead the innovation efforts. She expressed optimism that the ministry’s reform initiatives would benefit the public service sector as a whole.
